Cuts Mobile is built and maintained by one person. Every email goes straight to me — no support queue, no ticketing system. I usually reply within one business day.
Before you write
If you're hitting an issue, sending these along makes it much faster to fix:
- A short description of what you tried and what went wrong.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
- Your Cuts Mobile version (Settings → Cuts Mobile, or the app's About screen).
- If a render or transcript failed: how the clip was captured (in-app, imported from Photos, AirDropped, etc.) and roughly how long it is.
- Optionally a screenshot of the error or the screen that misbehaved (Power + Volume Up).

Which iPhones are supported?
Cuts Mobile runs on iPhones with an A-series chip running iOS 17 or later. The on-device transcription and language model use the Neural Engine, so newer iPhones are noticeably faster on long clips.
Where do exports save?
Wherever you send them through iOS's share sheet at export time — Photos, Files, AirDrop, TikTok, Reels, Messages, etc. Until you explicitly share or save, exports stay inside the Cuts Mobile sandbox.
Why is Cuts asking for camera or photo access?
Camera permission is requested only when you tap "Open camera" to record in-app. Photo library permission is requested only when you tap "Import video" to pick an existing clip, or "Save to Photos" at export. Cuts Mobile asks for read or write access individually, and only for what you're trying to do at that moment. Full breakdown in the Privacy Policy.
Will my videos leave my iPhone?
Not unless you share them through the share sheet. The transcription, cuts, subtitles, filters, and rendering all happen on-device. Cuts Mobile makes no network requests of its own.
How do I share to TikTok, Reels, or Shorts?
Pick the matching preset in the Export tab (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or YouTube), tap Start export, then use iOS's share sheet to send the finished file directly into the destination app. The preset bakes aspect ratio and resolution to match each platform's spec.
Why isn't my video transcribing?
Transcription needs an audio track. If your clip is silent or the audio is very low, Whisper produces no output. Try a clip with clear spoken audio. If you still see nothing, write in.
How do I reset Cuts Mobile?
Delete the app from the Home Screen — iOS removes the sandbox and everything inside it. Re-install from the App Store and you're starting fresh.
