Summary

Cuts Studio is a desktop video editor that runs entirely on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your videos, transcripts, edits, or usage data on Cuts-controlled servers. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, advertising IDs, or third-party SDKs that do those things.

What stays on your Mac

What may leave your Mac

None of your material. The Whisper transcription model and its CoreML encoder ship inside the app bundle, so transcription works entirely offline from first launch, and your videos, transcripts and edits are never uploaded anywhere.

Cuts Studio makes one kind of network request, and only when you ask for it: downloading an optional local language model. The Editor's contextual cuts run on Apple Intelligence where the Mac has it; where it does not, you can install Gemma 4 E2B (about 3.6 GB, from Hugging Face) into Application Support, and from then on it runs on your Mac like everything else. Nothing about your project is sent with that download.

This build does not include chat, OpenAI, Claude, or any remote text-generation provider integration. No text, audio or video ever leaves the Mac for a model to read.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Cuts Studio handles data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Until then, the answer to "what does Cuts Studio do with my data?" remains: nothing.
